FCRA Compliance

As per Home Ministry estimate, roughly 14,500 active FCRA registrations are operating under a tightened amendment framework, wherein the margin for error in foreign-funding compliance has narrowed considerably. Lex Terrae helps NGOs, trusts, and foreign-funded entities stay on the right side of it.

The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 governs how associations, trusts, societies, and companies in India receive, utilise, and report foreign contributions, and the new bill introduced in March 2026 sets up a special authority to manage or take over assets bought with foreign funds if an organization loses or lets its license expire. The amendment has made that regime considerably stricter. We advise on FCRA registration and renewal, prior permission applications, utilisation certificates, and annual return filings, as well as on responding to show-cause notices and registration cancellations.
